An Unbeatable Starting 5

Pick just 5 NBA players and run them up against any other 5 in the NBA... Here's Love & Basketball's Starting 5:

Point Guard - Steve Nash -
The guy that runs the show..While a part-time Nets' fan, I have to take Nash over Kidd. Nobody seems to distribute the ball as much or as well as Nash does. Bounce passes, behind the backs, no-looks, alley-oops. He sees the court with great vision, and makes some of the smartest basketball plays you'll see nowadays. And nowadays, J-Kidd has been a bit rusty, with a lot of turnovers. Nash is averaging more than 2 assists more as well, so this guy will get our other 4 their shots.

Shooting Guard - Kobe Bryant - Considered the deadliest shooter/scorer in the league today (hard to overlook Melo), Kobe is an assassin on the court. He hits shots from just about everywhere, and dunks with reckless abandon. Even better, this year he has been distributing the ball, to clear people's doubts that he's just another ballhog.

Small Forward - Lebron James - Been on an MVP like tear this season (as predicted). His numbers edge out Kobe's this year in the great debate (Kobe is returning from a surgery so give him time). Lebron makes big plays and is just too vicious to leave off a starting 5, he scores at will, dunks on just about anyone, and has shown he can get game winning scores or passes. Averaging 27 plus points a game, about 5 rebounds and 5 assists he's one of the elite.

Power Forward - Dwight Howard - A monster, simple as that. He rebounds with a ferocity unseen in a long time in the NBA (since Rodman, old Shaq, Barkley). Howard is a consistent double double man. So you know that if a shot's missed, he'll be there. And if he's there, stand back..

Center - Yao Ming -
The great wall from China, he imposes defensively and causes opponents to change their minds about driving. Even though he was swatted this season by Nate Robinson, Yao continues to be the biggest presence in the league. If you have him up front with Dwight Howard, how many guys would even dream of a layup??

I challenge someone to bring forth 5 guys in the NBA now who could beat this team..
