A good rivalry for the NBA?

So we know the debate. Kobe? Lebron? Kobe? Lebron? It might make some nauseas just thinking bout it. But how great would that finals be for the league? How great a rivalry would it be to see these two top dogs square off in the best of 7? I think it would really pump even more life into the league than last year's playoffs, because we have the 2 best players in the game, striving to show who the man is.

Both guys hit big shots, improve their teammates and make amazing plays. Dunk highlights that top the top 10 of ESPN Sportscenter. Both players have an unbelievable swagger. Kobe, the elder of the two, has something to prove. In that he can win that title without Shaq in the middle. Lebron wants to prove he is no second fiddle in this league to superstar Dwyane Wade. Lebron wants to do things that nobody expects this early from such a great young talent.

It will be surprising if this matchup happens this year. Right now both teams are playing great ball with winning records, but in terms of team play, you might say they are outmatched in their respective conferences. I think the Cavs can win on Lebron's shoulders, but the Lakers would need more than Kobe. No discredit to Lamar Odom, but the West is showing it is superior to the East this year. Now would another rivalry be better for basketball? Some were thinking we'd see Melo-Lebron rivalry start and go on for years similar to Bird-Magic. But what would the fans want to see right about now?
