Nets vs Celtics

Tonight two of the Atlantic Divison's finest squared off in a tight contest. For a while it looked as if the Celtics were about deliver the Nets their 7th straight? loss, but the Nets managed to pull off the comeback in Boston.

A few things I noticed..

1-Vince Carter just doesn't seem like himself. Even one of the Nets' commentators noted "Carter looks confused out there". He does, he looks sluggish and I'm not sure why. Did Vince get the new PS3? A lot of late nights can wear on you when you're lacking energy on the court.

2-Whatever Richard Jefferson drank from a can in that timeout was good stuff (Pimp Juice/Crunk Juice or Red Bull?) But maybe Gatorade comes in the can too, just never seen it during a game. Either way, Jefferson hit the deciding 3 pointer. Good stuff.

3-The Nets have some quality rooks in Marcus Williams and Hassan Adams. Marcus had a career high 7 assists tonight and Hassan outdid his career high in scoring. He seemed to be all over the place on the court, so his energy was helpful to the team. It's funny but it seems as if Lawrence Frank should consider having Marcus and Hassan as part of the starting lineup, seriously.

4-Jason Kidd is getting rusty. It's not the first game I've noticed him this season making downright bad passes. Quite a few tonight he threw were off cue and bobbled or picked off by the Celts. Whats up with J-Kidd?? Luckily they have Marcus there learning, and waiting, patiently.

5-It's a much needed win. The Nets were on a 6 game losing streak, and they are leading the Atlantic with a losing record. There's no excuse for it. The team is not much different than last year's. They are missing Lamond Murray and Scott Padgett in terms of bench players, but is that really missing them? Cliff Robinson's been out lately, but its not exactly like he powers this team..

Anyways a great win for the NJ Nets, and hopefully they stuck around because the lights dimmed on Hassan Adam's post game interview, as Akon got ready to shake the TD Banknorth in Boston at his free after-game concert.
