Where's the East?

Right about now the Eastern Conference of the NBA is abysmal. Only 3 teams hold winning records in the Magic, Pistons and Cavs. The Atlantic Division is the epitome of this where no team has a winning record. The Nets have become a huge mystery in that they are 5-8 with a team full of talent.

If you look closely, the answer is obvious. The East lacks dominant big men. The only real big men in the East are Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, Emeka Okafor and possibly Rasheed Wallace/J-Oneal. But the talent level of these names, doesn't match that of KG, Duncan, Yao or Dirk. Shaq is benched in Miami with another injury. There are many talented players in the East, but without dominant centers/forwards they struggle for victories if their superstar player or players can't carry the load.

Basically the question is, should the playoffs just be the West this year? Unfortunately the answer is no. The East still offers us the excitement and talent of names like Lebron, D-Wade, Vince, and AI.
