Rookie v Sophomore Game Thoughts

A bit disappointed in this years Rookies vs Sophomores game. In the past it has featured some high-flying acrobatics and great fastbreaks. However, a close contest is always most enjoyable. This one was a runaway by the Sophomores. When I made my prediction for the rookies, I figured Chris Paul wouldn't be lacing up for the Sophs. With him out there dishing the ball 17 times, it makes sense they ran away with it.

In addition to Chris Paul, there's one other factor; defense or lack thereof. If you watch the game alot, coach or play, you might get seriously frustrated when you see guys backing off on D. The rookies seemed to do this alot, allowing the Sophs to drive the lane for easy layups and uncontested dunks. Not sure if this was out of respect, laziness, the game plan or what. But that definitely helps with the easy points and to dig a hole for the Rookies.

Tonight look forward to the 3 point shootout, Skills contest and Dunk Contest..lets hope to see some things we've never seen before..
