NBA Little Man
Having just finished the DVD “Little Man” starring the Wayans Brothers, I have to comment on just who is the Little Man of the NBA.
But that raises the question, who’s the biggest little man right now in the NBA, in terms of stats, play, popularity, etc?
Well there’s 2 to really ponder. Earl Boykins of the Denver Nuggets and Nate Robinson of the Knicks.
Earl Boykins is the smallest player in the NBA in height at 5’5, yet he plays as tall as most 2 guards. He hits big shots, and can go on major scoring outbursts. He’s quick and hustles on the court unlike many others. Basically he’s got a passion for the game and it shows. Right now Boykins is averaging 10.2 PPG with 4.6 APG and 1.5 RPG. (amazing that a guy of his size gets even that many rebounds, but sometimes its just being in the right place)
Then there’s Mr. Nate Robinson of the New York Knicks. Nate averages 9.6 PPG, 1.6 APG, and 2.4 RPG. Nate has a dunk contest title under his belt (if you believe it is rightfully his), as well as a highlight block/stuff of Yao Ming earlier this year (which makes it look like Yao Ming is crying afterwards). In terms of highlight plays, Nate might give us more than Earl Boykins, but both of these little men play big. Keep in mind though, that Earl Boykins is still 4 inches shorter than Nate.
So if you have a choice, I recommend you watch one of the little men of the NBA and skip the DVD.
