Team USA will play its first game of the FIBA Tournament of the Americas tonight at 11PM EST on ESPN Classic. NBA.com provides an extensive analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of Venzuela's team. Venzuela's main star player is Oscar Torres, the only of their players to have played in the NBA (Houston and Golden State 2001-2003).

NBA Commissioner David Stern announced today that the NBA has named Lawrence B. Pedowitz, a former Chief of the Criminal Division in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and current partner at law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, to lead a comprehensive review of the league's rules, policies, and procedures relating to gambling and its officiating program.
The news comes several days after former ref Tim Donaghy said he will name several NBA referees who have been involved in a gambling ring or gambling incidents.Read more at NBA.com.
