An Odd Celtics vs. Cavs Game..
Tuesday night's Cavaliers versus Celtics games was truly one of the strangest so far in the 2008 Playoffs. That's not to say the game didn't offer excitement, but neither team really played all that well. You couldn't really call it jitters either, because Boston just came off a big Game 7 win against Atlanta to get to Round 2. Cleveland had been resting up. Neither team really had all that much of an excuse to play as sloppy as they did throughout.
Cleveland was hurt not only by Lebron James poor scoring performance ,but also 4 fouls, forcing him to sit out a stretch from the 3rd into the 4th. Ray Allen was extremely cold and has seemingly been MIA for his last few playtoff games. You'd have to think Ray will heat up at some point in this series. Charles Barkley noted that Cleveland has a veteran bench, meaning it's been in tact for some time now. The Celtics who have just as deep a bench, have a bench of guys who haven't played a full season together, yet.
The Celtics managed to scratch out a win over the Cavs by about 4 points. It came down to a combo of KG, Rajon Rondo and Sam Casell who hit big shots, despite all the turnovers and missed shots. Lebron James tried for some late game heroics with a drive to the hoop, but the ball popped out. Two free throws later helped seal the Celtics victory. Cross your fingers, things should improve from here for Game 2 which is in Boston this Thursday night.
