D-Wade: Father's Day

Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade has added yet another award to his trophy case, but this one has nothing to do with basketball. Wade was recently honored at a "Father of the Year" luncheon. From cbs4.com:

"(CBS4) NEW YORK Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade got a surprise visitor Thursday in New York when he was being honored at a "Father of the Year" luncheon. The visitor: his mother.

Jolinda Wade emerged and talked briefly about her son, something that Wade didn't know was part of the schedule.

The MVP of last season's NBA finals received his award from Hall of Fame shortstop Ozzie Smith. Wade is the father of two boys, the second of whom was born just last week.

Some of the other honorees at the ceremony in New York included Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, Tom Glavine of the New York Mets, wrestling icon Hulk Hogan and US Army Chief of Staff Gen. George W. Casey, Jr."
