RIP Wayman Tisdale, Age 44
Former NBA veteran, college basketball star and musician, Wayman Tisdale passed away Friday morning at just 44 years of age. The former Forward/Center had recently lost a leg to cancer, and had been battling the disease for over 2 years. Tisdale was the #2 pick back in the 1985 draft by the Indiana Pacers, after excelling at Oklahoma in college basketball. During his college career Tisdale was an All-American 3 times and holds the record for most points scored by a player through their freshman and sophomore seasons. In addition to the Pacers, Tisdale played for the Kings and Suns, averaging over 15 points and 6 rebounds a game for his 12 season career.
Tisdale retired from the NBA in 1997 and went on to a career in jazz music, during which he recorded several albums and toured with notable stars like Toby Keith.
