And Then There Were 4...
The Final Four teams were set for the Men's NCAA Tournament this past weekend. It played out perfectly for those contestants who put the #1 seeds in their Final Four brackets. Each of the 1's it this time with no Cinderellas getting to San Antonio, TX.
1) North Carolina Tarheels - Showed yet another impressive performance as they defeated Louisville. Tyler Hansborough continues to work hard, score, grab rebounds and show why he's player of the year. The Tarheels next opponent is Kansas.
2) Kansas Jayhawks - Withstood another valiant and gutsy effort from the 10th seed, Cinderella team, Davidson. Stephan Curry's team lost by just 2, showing that maybe the Jayhawks are the most seucceptible to a Final 4 loss.
3) Memphis Wildcats - Defeated Texas handily. The knock on Memphis continues to be they can't hit free throws, and the better the team they play, the more this could expose them.
4) UCLA Bruins - They'd have to be considered the favorites right now, as they were in the Final 4 the past 2 years as well. And they have "true Love", with their outstanding player Kevin Love.
So its Carolina vs Kansas and Memphis vs UCLA. The best game for the championship would have to be Carolina vs. UCLA battling it out for supremacy. It would put two future NBA prospects against each other with Kevin Love of UCLA against Tyler Hansborough of NC. Carolina seems as if they are destined to win it all this year and cut down the nets. UCLA has some impressive basketball history on their side, but NC isn't too shabby either. So one of these historic teams should be your 2008 champion.
