NBA China, Kobe & KG
As of yesterday, the NBA has increased its marketing overseas. NBA launched a new extension to its company, "NBA China". According to The Boston Herald:
For now, though, NBA China will serve as an umbrella company for the league’s already substantial marketing and business ventures in China. The NBA currently has deals with 51 Chinese telecasters to rebroadcast NBA games, including the Celtics. The league has also organized hundreds of touring basketball events for Chinese fans and has 16 marketing deals with Chinese companies and with U.S. companies that have Chinese (Source: Boston Herald)
A logical move as popular players Yao and Yi have been helping get games televised in China large audiences. In the past year the Magic played a two game series with the Cavs in China, and in 2004 the Kings and Rockets won a game a piece versus each other. See more about NBA China
In other news, Kobe Bryant had an amazing 48 point game last night, and KG is the leader amongst NBA jersey popularity with his new Celtics green.
