NBA Christmas Tripleheader!

Happy Holidays! Christmas day will offer a true gift for NBA fans with a triple-header of basketball action! Two of the games will be back to back on ABC, with the nightcap on ESPN. Here's a look at the 3 matchups and what to expect from the teams and players.

1) Heat vs Cavs 2PM on ABC

Several of the biggest names in the game will go at it in Game 1, with Shaq and D-Wade's Heat facing Lebron's Cavs. Both teams have had what you can call disappointing seasons so far, but the Heat are by far the bigger letdown of the two. The recent loss of Alonzo Mourning adds more to the frustrations of Miami. However where there's a Wade there's a chance for a win. Lebron has been putting up great numbers as usual and carrying his team. With an aging Shaq, you'd have to think the Cavs will be able to outrebound and outscore the Heat in the paint. I think this game will come down to the final minutes of play and could offer the most exciting of the 3 contests

Prediction: In a close game, the Cavs win by 5.

2) Suns vs. Lakers 5PM on ABC

Two of the best in the West as Kobe and his Lakers battle Nash and his Suns. The run and gun style of the Suns is one of the most exciting styles of play in all the NBA. Kobe Bryant is easily one of the most exciting individuals to watch. In this game, expect Nash, Amare and Marion to pile on the points with Kobe trying to ignite his team. The star power of the Suns will be too much for Kobe's superstar efforts. Sorry Kobe and Jack, but this game will go to Phoenix.

Prediction: Suns win by 10

3) Blazers vs. Sonics 8PM on ESPN

This game was supposed to be the ultimate Christmas treat, but unfortunately an injury to Greg Oden took 1 storyline away. This game will feature one of the hottest teams on the West Coast, in the Portland Trailblazers. Minus their new franchise player the Blazers have impressed and stunned many fans with how well they are competing. But look no farther than last year's Rookie of the Year, Brandon Roy, who runs the show. He also has the services of other young talent such as LaMarcus Aldridge. On the opposing side is the most likely next Rookie of the Year, the Sonics' Kevin Durant. Durant has been outdoing most of his rookie class and despite the Sonics' poor record, he will definitely be a superstar for years to come.

Prediction: Trailblazers by 8.

Enjoy your Christmas holiday! Happy Holidays to all NBA faithful!
